Living Word Missionary Baptist Church has been the sending church for missionary family Jim and Sherry Black, since 1999. Jim and Sherry served in Romania and Bulgaria for more than 20 years, planting churches, operating a teen camp in Romania’s Transylvania region, partnered with a private orphanage, taught in a Bible institute, and reached out to a large community of refugees in Bulgaria and throughout the Balkan peninsula. The Blacks are currently doing cross-cultural ministry in Mojave California, where there is a large community of Hazara people that had to leave Afghanistan when the Taliban took control of the country.
